Celebrating Heroes, Sports, and 10 Years of Unity

The countdown to one of the most anticipated events in the Kenyan diaspora calendar is officially on! The Kenya Community in Victoria (KCV) is proud to announce the Mashujaa Festival 2025, set to take place on Saturday, 25th October 2025, at Deakin University, Burwood Campus (221 Burwood Highway, Burwood VIC 3125).
This year’s edition promises to be a hybrid and intimate celebration — blending physical activities with possible digital engagements to connect Kenyans across Australia and beyond.
A Milestone Celebration
The 2025 Mashujaa Festival holds special significance. It marks KCV’s 10th Anniversary, a decade of community building, empowerment, and cultural preservation. It also aligns with 60 years of Kenya–Australia relations, adding a rich diplomatic and historical layer to this year’s festivities.

Sports, Unity, and Healthy Competition
At the heart of the Mashujaa is the Mashujaa Sports Challenge a thrilling inter-community tournament featuring teams from:
Northern Suburbs
Western Suburbs
South & Eastern Suburbs
Geelong & Regional Victoria
Participants will compete across multiple sports including soccer, Golf, Marathon, volleyball, and athletics, celebrating the athleticism, teamwork, and spirit that unite Kenyans in Victoria.
Diaspora Investment Forum - Biashara Mashinani
In addition to the sports challenge, this year introduces a new and exciting component the Diaspora Investment Forum "Biashara Mashinani". This formal event will bring together community leaders, sponsors, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders for an opportunity to network, celebrate achievements, and explore avenues for collaboration within the Kenyan-Australian community.

As always, the KCV Mashujaa Challenge remains family and community-friendly. Expect a full day of:

Get Involved
KCV has already opened its Expressions of Interest (EOI) for volunteers and service providers, including DJs, MCs, and catering teams, ahead of the submission deadline on 14th October 2025.
